One-Day Scientific Conference on Irritable Bowel Syndrome in Children to Be Held at Ali Asghar Children’s Hospital
A one-day scientific conference focusing on Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) in children will be held at Ali Asghar Children's Hospital, affiliated with Iran University of Medical Sciences.
The scientific event will bring together specialists from the fields of pediatric gastroenterology, neurology, psychiatry, and nutrition to discuss the latest perspectives on the diagnosis, treatment, and comprehensive management of IBS in children.
The scientific program will begin with a presentation by Dr. Masoumeh Pandi, Pediatric Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist, on the step-by-step diagnosis and management of IBS in children.
The second session, presented by Dr. Maryam Kachouei, Pediatric Neurologist, will focus on the brain–gut axis and its role in pediatric IBS. The program will then continue with a presentation by Dr. Mehdi Salehi, Pediatric Psychiatrist, addressing new treatment approaches for IBS, including pharmacotherapy and hypnotherapy.
The final scientific session will be presented by Dr. Maryam Khazdooz, Pediatric Nutrition Specialist, focusing on the role of nutritional interventions in the management of IBS in children.
The conference aims to provide healthcare professionals with an updated and multidisciplinary perspective on pediatric IBS, with particular emphasis on the interaction between the gastrointestinal and nervous systems, emerging treatment strategies, and the role of nutrition in improving symptoms and children's quality of life.
